En plus d’être une voix soulful à souhait, la chanteuse de Miami fut choriste de Stevie Wonder, David Byrne, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff et bien d’autres, et de nombreux rappeurs l’ont invité en featuring (Diddy, Nas, Rick Ross, The Game, Lil Wayne). En 2011, Wright avait même conçu son dernier album, "Betty Wright: The Movie", avec les Roots.
