Théophile Alexandre

French opera singer revealed by J-C Malgoire, the countertenor Théophile ALEXANDRE has performed on prestigious stages (Paris Philharmony, New-York Lincoln Center, Champs-Elysées Theater, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Venice Fenice, the Operas of Versailles, Ottawa, Bern…), shining in baroque music (Vivaldi, Bach, Handel...), classical music (Mozart, Haydn, Gluck...) and contemporary creations (Escaich, Lavandier, Moultaka...).

With a double degree in lyric singing and dance from the CNSM of Lyon, he has collaborated with renowned conductors (W. Christie, G. Garrido, S. D’Hérin, P. Agnew, C. Grapperon, associate of L. Equilbey...) and choreographers (J-C Gallotta, L. Scozzi, P. Bausch, J. Montalvo, D. Hervieu...), distinguishing himself as one of the few artists in the world mastering & performing these two arts together.

His debut solo album ADN BAROQUE is a worldwide première undressing baroque music in the intimacy of piano-voice, with the concertist Guillaume VINCENT. Directly n°1 when released, it now cumulates more than 3.5 millions of streams. On tour, ADN BAROQUE mixes piano-voice with choreographies by Gallotta, both sung & danced by Théophile: a reinvented recital cumulating 35 performances & 20 000 spectators.

His new album NO(S) DAMES with the Quatuor ZAÏDE is a genderless tribute to opera's divas, redistributing musical direction to women and ladies’ agonies to a man, to celebrate the heroines’ arias without perpetuating their gender tragedies. On tour, the show NO(S) DAMES is staged by Pierre-Emmanuel ROUSSEAU.
