Queasy Pieces
The project of Andrew Anderson, Queasy Pieces reassembles punk, electronic pop, and dance music into bracing, restless forms. On 2022's Queasy Pieces, Anderson's bashed-out approach had as much in common with Devo and XTC as it did with Metronomy and Boxed In.
While growing up in Manchester, Anderson loved the music of Fatboy Slim, but by the time he was 15, he was playing with punk bands such as Hipshakes, Proto Idiot, and Freak Genes. During his time in Bulgaria, he founded Queasy Pieces, partly to return to his early fondness for dance music and partly because recording with drum machines and synths wouldn't bother his neighbors. A brash mix of punk production and electronic instrumentation, November 2022's Queasy Pieces featured contributions from members of the Be Positives and Holiday Ghosts and mastering by Mikey Young.
