Osibisa
Langue disponible : anglaisBefore there was a genre known as "Afropop," the Ghanian and Caribbean members of Osibisa had a runaway popular success with their own particular blend of African highlife and Western pop and rock music. Based in London in the late 1960s, Osibisa had several songs hit the British pop charts and a brilliant but brief popularity which fizzled by the early '80s when roots music purists dismissed them as too pop and the mainstream vetoed their sound as too "African."
