Marc Sway

Marc Sway is a Swiss singer/songwriter of Brazilian heritage whose diverse style of music draws from pop/rock as well as soul and R&B. Born Stefan Bachofen on June 25, 1979, in Männedorf, Switzerland, he is the son of a Swiss father and a Brazilian mother, both of whom are musically inclined. Sway made his recording debut in 2003 with "Natural High," the lead single from his full-length solo album debut, Marc's Way, released on the BMG subsidiary Ariola. The album also spawned the follow-up single "Ready for the Ride," and though both this latter single and the album itself charted at numbers 67 and 36 respectively, Sway receded from the music marketplace for a few years thereafter. In 2006 he finally resurfaced with "We Are on Fire!," a Top 30 hit single also featuring Daniel Kandlbauer, Kisha, and Tanja Dankner. Penned by Sway, "We Are on Fire!" was chosen as the official theme song of the Swiss Olympic Team at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. In 2007 the resurgent singer/songwriter scored another collaborative hit with "Hemmingslos Liebe," a Top Ten smash hit featuring Fabienne Louves. In the wake of that hit, Sway released his second full-length solo album, One Way (2008), which was a Top Ten hit on the Swiss albums chart. Released on Columbia Records, One Way spawned the hit single "Severina," which peaked at number 11 on the Swiss singles chart.
