Mahsun Kirmizigul

Born Abdullah Bazencir on March 26, 1969 in Diyarbakır, Mahsun Kirmizigül is a Turkish singer, music composer and producer of Kurdish-Zaza origin known for working with Arabesque, folk and Fantezi styles. Growing up in a 22-children household, he began singing at weddings to make money, before going to Istanbul to work with Güneş Plak in 1984. He released five albums with Güneş Plak during the 1980s: Bu da Yeter (1984), Yürek Yarası (1985), Terkedildim (1986), Sarışınım (1987), and Paylaşamam (1988). In 1993, he unleashed his debut solo album,, Alem Buysa Kral Sensin, which helped his solo reputation to skyrocket; the following year he joined Prestige Music Company as a producer. Mahsun Kirmizigül continued to release a steady stream of albums on various labels over the next two decades, including a batch of LPs for Prestige like 1998's Yıkılmadım and 2001's Ülkem Ağlar. He dropped Dinle in June 2006 on A1 Müzik before taking some time out from the limelight. Mahsun Kirmizigül delighted fans with a comeback album, Hoş Geldin, in 2022 – his first LP in 16 years.
