Kings Of Tomorrow

Kings of Tomorrow is one of the many monikers used by house/hip-hop DJ legend Sandy Rivera. Born of Puerto Rican heritage, Rivera was steeped in the musically rich and diverse sounds surging through the streets in the New York of his childhood. He began spinning records, recording radio shows, and using the belt-driven turntables and tape decks of the day to fuse the Latino, hip-hop, and rock sounds that surrounded him. DJing parties as young as 17, Rivera established a reputation while still quite young. Some of his first professional efforts were producing hip-hop tracks used by artists like Big Pun and Fat Joe as part of the Full Eclipse production team. Deciding to focus his efforts on the emerging house music scene, he established Blackwiz Records in 1994 and Deep Vision with the help of publishing mogul Burt Bacharach. His debut release came three years later in 1997, entitled The Calling, featuring Rivera on keyboard and vocals, in addition to demonstrating his unique ear for production. It was with Rivera's sophomore effort that the house music world was introduced to the Kings of Tomorrow name. Like many influential DJs, the body of Rivera's work consists of original releases and remixes alike. Unlike many of his peers, Rivera's original material can be found under a number of aliases, including Aurei, D'Menace, Awesome Foursome, the Committee, Kings of Tomorrow, and Mysterious People, among others.
