Kim Yeon Ji

Kim Yeon-ji is a K-pop vocalist who fronted the award-winning girl group SeeYa from 2006 to 2011, then launched a solo career after the group's disbandment. She was born on October 30, 1986, in Anyang, South Korea. Joining SeeYa at 20 years old, she served as the pop group's lead vocalist on Top 10 albums like 2006's The First Mind, 2007's Lovely Sweet Heart, 2008's California Dream, and 2011's See You Again. Kim Yeon-ji also released sporadic material as a solo artist during her time with the group, beginning with "The Day" — a duet with fellow girl group frontwoman JeA — in 2006. Another solo single, "Let's Meet Again," followed in 2010 and became a Top 40 hit, peaking at Number 27 on the Gaon Digital Chart. When SeeYa broke up the following year, she began to focus more heavily on her solo material, reaching Number 61 on the South Korean charts with 2012's "Run" before cracking the Top 40 once again with "Sad Day" (2014) and "The Untold Story" (2015). She also appeared on numerous soundtracks, starting with 2012's television series Padam Padam (which featured her song "Love is Right"). Yeon-ji remained a mainstream figure in K-pop music through the early 2020s, even reaching a career-high peak on the Gaon charts with 2022's "Whisky on the Rock," which reached Number 7.
