Memphis, Tennessee-based rapper/producer Jon Waltz first entered the public eye when he released his debut single, "Bang (Left My Home)" in 2013, while he was just 17. The track's laid-back, narcotic production and searching lyrical style set the tone for Waltz's tracks that followed for the next few years, and he released his Airways Blvd. EP later that year as well as collaborating with Skizzy Mars. As he progressed, he moved more toward a pop/R&B sound on singles like 2015's "Anna" and the sparsely arranged "Riot" in 2016. Still young and pursuing a college education by now, Waltz focused on his studies over music for a while, but returned in early 2018 with the driving new single "Backstreets." ~ Fred Thomas
