Hot Country Knights

Emerging in the 2010s, Hot Country Knights reconstitutes the anthemic country of the 1990s, mullets, neon wardrobe, double entendres, and all. Led by country superstar Dierks Bentley's alter ego Douglas "Doug" Douglason, the six-piece made their major-label debut with the 2020 single "Pick Her Up," a collaboration with Travis Tritt. After launching the project with a handful of one-off shows in 2015, Hot Country Knights eventually solidified the lineup of singer Doug Douglason, lead guitarist Marty Ray "Rayro" Roburn, steel guitarist Barry Van Ricky, keytar/fiddle player Terotej "Terry" Dvoraczekynski, bass player Trevor Travis, and percussionist Monte Montgomery, each a stage persona with his own elaborate backstory. (Douglason is a disgruntled former porn actor.) After signing to Bentley's UMG Nashville and opening arena shows for the singer/songwriter, Hot Country Knights made their official recording debut in early 2020 with the Bentley-produced "Pick Her Up" featuring Travis Tritt. They followed it with further tracks and an April headlining tour of theaters and clubs in anticipation of their first album later that year.
