Henry Hall
Los Angeles singer/songwriter Henry Hall is a lyrical performer whose buoyant, laid-back sound is marked by his self-effacing lyrics and warm falsetto vocals. Drawing up a mix of classic soft rock and contemporary indie pop influences, Hall initially garnered attention with his 2016 EP, My Friends Don't Like Me. The release earned favorable comparisons to bands like Grizzly Bear and Mac DeMarco, paving the way for his 2020 full-length debut, Neato. Yet more wry humor marked his 2022 EP, Are You Kidding Me?????.
Born in 1992, Hall was raised in Los Angeles the eldest son of actors Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall. Growing up he became interested in music, gravitating toward artists like Prince and Paul McCartney. After high school, he continued his creative pursuits, earning a film studies degree from Ohio's Wesleyan University. While there, he formed the indie rock band Grand Cousin, playing house shows and further developing his sound. Following his graduation in 2014, Hall relocated to New York City, where in 2016 he released his debut EP, My Friends Don't Like Me. The set drew buzz online and picked up more attention after one of the songs was used on the Judd Apatow-produced Netflix series Love. A stand-alone song, "Talk," arrived in 2018 and also performed well on streaming platforms. Hall eventually moved back to Los Angeles, and he released his debut full-length album, Neato, in October 2020. Produced by Dylan Bostick, the LP included the spotlight track "Guy." An EP, Are You Kidding Me?????, arrived in September 2022 and found Hall exploring his romantic insecurities with a wry, deadpan sense of humor.
