Hannah Rickard and The Relatives

Newcastle-Upon-Tyne's Hannah Rickard's sultry vocals and fiddle skills have not only graced her own band's recordings and live shows since 2012, but also her duets with Francis Rossi on their 2019 album We Talk Too Much. Rickard's vocals and fiddle style were influenced by the sounds of English folk, classic honky tonk, and rock & roll, and she's performed with the likes of Northumbrian piper Kathryn Tickell. In 2012, after a period of writing her own material, she recorded the songs together with her cousin -- a member of the punkabilly band the Grit -- and released two singles, 2014's "L.A. Lover" and 2015's "You Changed," with her band, Hannah Rickard & the Relatives. She also worked with Status Quo on their Aquostic projects, adding backing vocals and violins to the recordings and live shows. When the Quo's Francis Rossi put together his new project, an album purely focused on classic country & western, he drafted Rickard to write and record with him. In 2019, the pair delivered their first album, We Talk Too Much, a collection of honky tonk country, tearjerker ballads, and barroom country rock.
