Hanbyul

Born Jason Jang Hanbyul in Brisbane Australia on July 4, 1990, singer and guitarist Hanbyul, sometimes credited as Jang Han-byul, would be come a Korean pop star, and a fixture on television. He first established himself as the singer for the rock band Led Apple, but launched himself as a solo artist with the 2011 EP CODA. He recorded a number of songs for television and movie soundtracks in cluding 2013’s “I’ll Be There For You”, from 7th Grade Civil Servant; and 2014’s “Call My Name” from Marriage, Not Dating. That early success led him to leave Led Apple behind. Soundtrack work continued for the next few years, and he gained much notoriety for his winning performance on the second season of the reality singing competition Big Stage. This led to several television gigs throughout 2020 and helped propel his 2020 single “Like a Star” onto the Korean charts. That same year he captured the Best New Artist at the 2020 MeleTOP Era Awards. In 2021 he released a video for his then current single, Used to This”.
