Le séant de Weezer a toujours hésité quant à l’endroit où se poser. Pop indé ou pop mainstream ? Un dilemme que le groupe californien a plus ou moins zappé d’un revers de main en donnant à manger à ses fans les plus exigeants comme au grand public. Ce quatrième album éponyme de Weezer qui se différencie, comme ses trois prédécesseurs, par la couleur de sa pochette, est aussi le premier album-concept depuis Pinkerton, un genre que la bande de Rivers Cuomo affectionne beaucoup. Pour cet album blanc produit par Jake Sinclair (plutôt habitué à bidouiller du Taylor Swift, du Fall Out Boy, du P!nk ou du 5 Seconds of Summer), la thématique voulue est des plus estivales. La plage, son décor, ses acteurs, ses ambiances… Côté son, la volonté de revenir à une atmosphère Beach Boys grunge semble clairement à l’ordre du jour. Et chaque chanson de ce album blanc est toujours un alliage plus que parfait entre le sucre de la pop et le tranchant de puissantes guitares. Objectif Lune : The Dark Side of the Moon

Album phare dans la discographie de Pink Floyd, “The Dark Side of the Moon” est le fruit d’une élaboration relativement lente qui remonte pratiquement à 1968. “A Saucerful of Secrets” (le morceau phare de l’album éponyme) en est, pour Nick Mason, le point de départ. Derrière, “Ummagumma” laissait s’exprimer des personnalités qu’il allait falloir amalgamer pour décrocher la timbale. Pink Floyd poursuivit sa quête du disque idéal avec “Meddle”, sur lequel le groupe accentuait sa maîtrise du travail du studio, et “Atom Heart Mother”, avant d’atteindre le nirvana avec “The Dark Side of the Moon”, dont la perfection ne s’est jamais érodée.

Les musiciens d’Europe du Nord ont toujours su ajouter un twist arctique à tous les genres de musique, et la sphère électronique n’y a pas échappé. Le jazz nordique en 10 albums

Hiver, grands espaces, nature en majesté… On réduit vite la Scandinavie aux éternels mêmes clichés. Le jazz n’échappe pas à la règle. Pourtant, le Danemark marche sur les brisées de la tradition nord-américaine, la Norvège est attirée par l’expérimentation et la Suède préfère ne pas trancher en s’immisçant entre les deux. Malgré ces différences, on parle invariablement de jazz scandinave comme d’une grande famille. Depuis le début des années 70, les musiciens venus du froid ont imposé une singularité perpétuée par la génération actuelle.
