En novembre 2021, Le Concert d’Astrée, dirigé par sa fondatrice Emmanuelle Haïm, donnait deux représentations à Berlin et Paris pour célébrer les 20 ans de l’orchestre. L’occasion de porter un regard non pas nostalgique mais pleinement festif sur deux décennies riches en collaborations fécondes et joyeuses. Le temps de deux soirées, le Staatsoper Unter den Linden et le théâtre des Champs-Elysées ont pu résonner aux sons des plus belles pages opératiques de Haendel, Rameau, Purcell, Vivaldi et Campra. Fort d’une solide réputation justement acquise, Le Concert d’Astrée a pu compter sur la venue d’invité(e)s de prestige comme Natalie Dessay, Léa Desandre, Sabine Devieilhe, Rolando Villazón, Laurent Naouri. Comme la fête sait se conjuguer à la philanthropie, les artistes ont généreusement reversé leur cachet à l’Institut du cerveau au profit de la recherche médicale.
On se félicite que ces galas aient fait l’objet d’un enregistrement live, restituant fidèlement la fièvre qui a pu agiter public et artistes lors de ces deux soirées d’exception. Quel bonheur d’entendre à nouveau la puissance des Indes galantes de Rameau, ou le Didon et Enée de Purcell aux côtés d’œuvres plus rares mais tout aussi magnifiques comme l’Idomeneo de Campra ou la Juditha Triumphans de Vivaldi !
Emmanuelle Haïm, en capitaine de navire aguerrie, fait montre d'une battue toujours étincelante de vitalité. Les applaudissements généreux que l’on peut entendre à la fin des morceaux témoignent de la parfaite réussite de cette double fête. © Pierre Lamy/Qobuz
