La grande aventure du Fidelio de Beethoven

Basé sur un fait divers survenu en France pendant la Terreur révolutionnaire (l’histoire d’une jeune femme intrépide se déguisant en homme pour tenter de sauver son mari emprisonné au fond d’un cachot), l’unique opéra de Beethoven a connu une destinée mouvementée, remanié de part et d’autre au fil des années. Nouvelle preuve du génie musical du compositeur allemand, “Fidelio” lui a aussi permis de mettre en musique un livret répondant à ses opinions politiques.

Orfeo Orchestra, le chaînon manquant du XVIIIe siècle français

Très actif dans la musique baroque française depuis ses premières parutions au début des années 90, l'Orfeo Orchestra, dirigé par György Vashegyi, a été, ces dernières années, distingué par le Palazzetto Bru Zane et surtout le Centre de musique baroque de Versailles pour sa série d'explorations discographiques ambitieuses du répertoire lyrique français – baroque et classique.

British blues boom, chronique d’une révolution

Si Joe Bonamassa revient avec “British Blues Explosion”, un an après le “Blue & Lonesome” des Rolling Stones, c’est que le « British blues boom » a été plus qu’un simple courant. L’intérêt des Anglais pour les icônes américaines du genre a engendré une véritable révolution, avec en tête la sainte Trinité de la guitare, formée par Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck et Jimmy Page. À l’aube des années 1960, une fabuleuse déferlante atteint les côtes de la Grande-Bretagne. Et ouvre la voie à de nouvelles dimensions musicales.
