Parfaitement à la pointe des tendances avec son mélange d'electro pop, de 2 step et de house, Disclosure crée l'évènement avec la sortie de Settle en juin 2013. Disclosure avait déjà fait la preuve de sa capacité à manier les hits avec « Latch » et surtout « White Noise », il ajoute cette fois la capacité à tenir la longueur d'un album.
Le fraternel duo apporte un vent de fraîcheur dans la musique destinée aux clubbers, avec un disque qui tranche avec la lourdeur et les tics des productions habituelles du genre. « F for You » est un hymne joyeux qui ravira les fans de Pet Shop Boys. L'ensemble de la production de Disclosure est d'ailleurs marqué par le ton joueur d'un electro léger dépourvu de grosses ficelles tout en faisant la part belle au rythme.
Un autre satisfecit est la parfaite intégration et la qualité des invités sur l'album. « White Noise » avait déjà vu la participation du duo AlunaGeorge tandis que sur Settle, Eliza Doolittle et Jessie Ware se glissent avec délice dans la peau de divas house sur « You & Me » et « Confess to Me ». Jamie Woon apporte lui son écot à « January » aux contretemps saccadés et aux effets de marshmallow sonore.
Alors que les méga productions electro françaises ou américaines se tournent invariablement vers le passé et ressassent les même recettes éprouvées, Disclosure incarne sans conteste le futur de la face dance de l'electro. Settle est bien destiné à s'installer durablement dans nos oreilles.
