La sortie du premier album de Skrillex fut un véritable raz-de-marrée. Grâce à lui (ou à cause), la dubstep a effectué une transition éclair de l’underground londonien à la scène des Grammy Awards. Résultat : le semi chevelu Skrillex était méprisé par les puristes electro, pendant que tout un pan de la jeunesse voyait en lui un nouveau messie, prêchant à coup de glitch et de basses démesurées. Dès lors, une ribambelle d’artistes a commencé à émerger, faisant définitivement basculer la dubstep dans le monde du mainstream, sans retour arrière possible. 3 ans plus tard, tout a changé, et Skrillex ne peut plus compter sur l’effet de surprise. Le jeune DJ (ex chanteur de métal) l’a bien compris, et réutilise les mêmes ingrédients pour ce second disque long format.Voix trafiquées, rythmes effrénés, saturation et basse de rigueur, voilà qui devrait lui permettre de conserver son immense communauté de fans ( 15 millions rien que sur Facebook), et d’effrayer à nouveau les oreilles de quelques milliers de parents.
