Pitbull est un véritable phénomène, encore inconnu en Europe au début de l'été, il s'offre le luxe de coiffer le top single français depuis le 11 juillet 2009.
Si le titre « I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho » est effectivement un tube monstrueux, mélange malin de crunk et de reggaeton, l'album Rebelution est apte à en surprendre plus d'un. Sous ses airs de méchant garçon, Pitbull à l'art de flairer les tendances et Rebelution est à la croisée de tous les styles actuels.
Rap latino, crunk, reggaeton, electro dance, Pitbull maîtrise parfaitement tous les courants avec une maestria proprement bluffante. Son sens naturel de la fête et des refrains accrocheurs fait de Rebelution un redoutable concentré de tubes en puissance.
« Triumph », « Shut It Down », « Girls » et ses rires féminins, « Hotel Room Service » le second simple, le rythme ne faiblit jamais aidé en cela par un flow qui emprunte autant à Daddy Yankee qu'à un Eminem des meilleurs jours.
Rebelution n'est définitivement pas l'album d'un seul tube, mais le manifeste d'un artiste qui a visiblement bien préparé son coup, ce quatrième album fait de Pitbull non pas un futur grand mais déjà un artiste majeur apte à régénérer le rap américain et mondial.
Avec l'aide d'Akon et de Lil Jon, Pitbull montre une personnalité et un talent hors normes. Rebelution lui permet d'afficher son talent et de livrer un album presque parfait.
