Album du retour de Gérald De Palmas, Marcher Dans le Sable est souvent mentionné pour le superbe titre « J’en rêve encore », composé par Jean-Jacques Goldman. C’est oublier que la plupart des autres morceaux sont dus à De Palmas lui-même, qui atteint un niveau encore inédit pour lui avec « Une seule vie », titre à tomber par terre de beauté. Plus énergique et rageur, plus rock dans son inspiration, De Palmas trouve enfin le ton juste pour toucher au cœur le public. L’ambiance parfois sèche et inquiétante (« Regarde-moi bien en face ») est contrebalancée par une étonnante richesse musicale, laissant une grande place à des instruments à cordes (guitares électriques notamment) très inspirés. Un album particulièrement dense, qui a plus que mérité son succès.

C’est oublier que la plupart des autres morceaux sont dus à De Palmas lui-même, qui atteint un niveau encore inédit pour lui avec « Une seule vie », titre à tomber par terre de beauté.
