Le projet est vraiment d'une grande originalité, puisqu'il s'agit de 27 œuvres commandées par la violoniste à des compositeurs de tous horizons. «Ce projet, explique-t-elle, est le fruit de dix années de réflexion. Lorsque j'ai commencé à me produire en récitals solos, j'ai vite pris conscience que le public n'accordait guère d'attention aux pièces jouées en bis. Il ne voyait que l'interprète, avec lequel il souhaite garder un moment d'intimité, oubliant souvent la musique. En dix ans, j'ai reçu près de 400 pièces», s'étonne-t-elle, songeant presque à regret aux coupes qu'il lui fallut opérer parmi ces œuvres de caractère. Forts d'un tel nouveau répertoire, les violonistes du 21e siècle vont pouvoir faire preuve d'un peu d'imagination et laisser les Sonates et Partitas de Bach au vestiaire, au moins pour le temps d'un bis.
