Plus dans la lignée des sons colorés de pop de Dutty Rock que dans les beats provocants de Trinity, le quatrième album de Sean Paul est un mélange sympathique de dancehall, de hip-hop et de pop contemporaine. Il y a toujours de l'arrogance, mais moins de dureté, et plus une volonté de s'éclater. Avec des impros joviales à mi-chemin entre le dancehall et le hip-hop telles que "Lace It" et "She Wanna Be Down", des titres chantants et romantiques comme "Now That I've Got Your Love" et "Daddy's Home", plus un bon lot de chansons ultra-dansantes ("Press It Up", "Don't Tease Me", "Evening Ride"), Imperial Blaze évite la pose ou la fausse provoc, ce qui fait de lui un des meilleurs opus de Sean Paul.
