Voilà 50 ans que Leonard Bernstein enregistrait les Symphonies Parisiennes de Haydn. C'était à New York, bien avant la révolution baroque. Les instruments sont modernes, les musiciens nombreux mais a-t-on fait vraiment mieux (à l'instar de Jochum dans les Londoniennes) sur le plan de l'interprétation ? Les mouvements sont vifs, les rythmes bien articulés, la joie de vivre omniprésente, car Bernstein savait combien Haydn aimait la vie, la bonne chère et l'humour. Cette intégrale est empreinte de cordialité, voire de bonhommie et cela réjouit l'âme et le coeur sans que le temps ne vienne changer quoique ce soit à notre bonheur. FH
