rustre jusqu'à la symphonie la plus élevée. Aussi ce que j'aimerais faire, c'est illustrer
chaque style, qu'elle qu'en soit l'époque, autant que ça m'est possible. » Ces mots-là,
Stephane Belmondo aurait pu les prononcer, et ce n'est pas son nouvel album, « Ever
After », qui emprunte au jazz et à la soul, à l'Afrique et au classique, qui le démentirait.
Ces propos, en fait, sont de Donny Hathaway, chanteur et compositeur, génie touche-à-
tout de la musique afro-américaine tragiquement disparu en 1979. Pas étonnant que sa
musique trouve une résonnance particulière aux oreilles du trompettiste français qui a
choisi de placer au cour de son disque des reprises de certaines de ses chansons les plus
emblématiques, conviant pour l'occasion deux grandes voix d'aujourd'hui, Gregory
Porter et Sandra Nkaké, à les interpréter.
