Pour son troisième album studio, le dandy manouche a mis le cap sur l’Angleterre. C’est en effet à Londres qu’a été enregistré Eternels, jusqu’à demain dans lequel Thomas Dutronc opère un léger virage qui le rapproche doucement de la pop. Les influences de Django Reinhardt se font toujours ressentir mais se laissent furtivement effacées par les savoureuses mélodies et les refrains entêtants présents sur le disque. Le fils Dutronc a le chic pour bien s’entourer : l’album s’est fait avec l’aide du producteur Jon Kelly (Paul McCartney, Kate Bush…) et de brillants musiciens ayant déjà joué, entre autre, pour Adele et Jamiroquai. Des proches de l’artiste sont également présents : son ami d’enfance, Matthieu Chédid, sur le titre Croc Madame ainsi que son père, Jacques Dutronc, avec lequel il chante en duo sur Je n’suis personne. Prenez une version western d’un poème d’Aragon ainsi qu’une reprise rafraichissante de Gainsbourg, ajoutez-y des compositions originales subtilement orchestrées et vous obtiendrez Eternels, jusqu’à demain. © LG/Qobuz
