Il y a des noms qui font débat, laissent rarement silencieux et électrisent l’atmosphère en un claquement de doigts : Booba est l’un d’entre eux. Fans ou ennemis, B2O est l’un des rares MC à fasciner par-delà les frontières du rap game. Sa cuvée 2015, D.U.C., qui s’inscrit dans la lignée du millésime Futur, rappelle surtout que l’autoproclamé Duc de Boulbi est sans doute la plume la plus aiguisée du hip hop gaulois. Une plume qu’il trempe ici dans divers encriers. Là réside l’une des grandes forces de ce septième album studio : offrir une large palette de productions et de sons. Hardcore, introspection, humour, ego trip, D.U.C., jamais monolithique, slalome entre les morceaux percussifs, nonchalants, dancefloor (All Set) et même reggae (G-Love). Côté prose, il y a ici matière pour passer plusieurs jours à éplucher le feu d’artifice de punchlines. Là encore, Booba a su créer sa propre langue, son style unique. © MD/Qobuz
