Bien que toujours très populaire, AC/DC connait une nette baisse de succès dans les années 80 , notamment avec les albums Flick of the Switch et Fly on the Wall. C’est l’album Who Made Who, bande son d’un film de Stephen King, qui permet au groupe de hard rock de revenir sur le devant de la scène. Blow Up Your Video, publié en 1988, confirme ce renouement avec le succès et constitue l’un des disques les plus vendus d’AC/DC. Les musiciens font appel à la même équipe de producteurs qui s’était occupé de leur début de carrière, Harry Vanda et George Young, et décident de s’installer en France pour enregistrer l’album. Ce dernier marque également la dernière collaboration du groupe avec le batteur Simon Wright. Avec des titres comme That’s The Way I Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll et Heatseeker, les membres d’AC/DC prouvent qu’ils sont toujours aussi inspirés et survoltés, et le trio de compositeur Angus Young/Malcolm Young/Brian Johnson fonctionne encore à merveille. © LG/Qobuz
