Impressionnante réussite de famille que celle des sœurs Nemtanu, Sarah – premier violon solo de l’Orchestre National de France – et Deborah – premier violon solo de l’Orchestre de Chambre de Paris – qui s’attaquent ici aux rares, trop rares quarante-quatre Duos de Bartók, composés pour deux violons Sz. 98, un recueil de pièces instrumentales publié en 1931 et destiné aux élèves afin, selon les paroles mêmes du compositeur « qu'ils puissent, dès leurs premières années d'études, jouer des œuvres dans lesquelles se trouve la simplicité naturelle du peuple et aussi ses particularités mélodiques et rythmiques ». Bartók a emprunté aux folklores hongrois, roumain, serbe, slovaque, ruthène et même arabe, en offrant aux jeunes violonistes de quoi se frotter à toutes les techniques fondatrices de l’instrument ; le recueil évolue d’ailleurs en difficulté et en complexité, à l’instar de Mikrokosmos pour le piano. Mais ces duos pour deux violons permettent autrement plus de diversité sonore et technique, ainsi que vous en persuaderont mesdemoiselles Nemtanu. Enregistré en juin 2015 à Paris. © SM/Qobuz
