La pochette de ce premier album montre un Faudel encore tout jeunot, au gentil sourire presque empoté. C’est pourtant tout sauf un disque de premier communiant que nous propose un jeune chanteur déjà aguerri.
Comprenant des chansons raï matinées de pop et d’un petit peu de soul, Baïda est un album chaleureux et rythmé, où Faudel chante encore essentiellement en arabe. Certains titres, comme l’envoûtant « La Valse », sont particulièrement réussis. On trouvera également « Tellement n’brick », en version arabe et franco-arabe.
