Impressionnant, tout simplement impressionnant rétrospectivement le succès de Boyzone. Cette compilation parue lors de la reformation du groupe, contient trois inédits avec « Love You Anyway », « Better » et « Can't Stop Thinking About You », mais surtout la bagatelle de quatorze top trois anglais dont six numéros un.
Il faut dire que le registre de Boyzone est bien plus romantique que celui orienté dance de ses concurrents. En fait Boyzone s'avère une mouture façon boys band de groupes comme Bay City Rollers, soit l'équivalent de nos "chanteurs à minettes" hexagonaux des années 70.
Les tubes s'enchaînent mais le rythme lui patine, voire patauge, dans une succession de roucoulades, bien réalisées mais vides. Pour trouver un peu de mouvement, il faut se ruer sur « Picture of You » ou « Can't Stop Thinking About You ». Boyzone s'avère la bande son idéale pour des amourettes adolescentes, le final de « Life Is a Rollercoaster » enregistré en public restitue fidèlement l'hystérie non feinte d'un public à forte composante féminine.
Back Again... No Matter What devient hélas le testament de Boyzone avec le décès soudain de Stephen Gately en 2009, les cinq Irlandais restent figés pour la postérité au milieu de cette flopée de tubes qui ont bercé bien des émois pubères au milieu des années 90.
