Bien sûr, depuis des décennies, les Sonates et Partitas de Bach pour violon seul ont été enregistrées à l’envi. Mais quand le violoniste Christian Tetzlaff se lance dans l’aventure, on ne peut que dire « Amis, grands citoyens, que l’on prête l’oreille ». Car des concerts avec Tetzlaff sont souvent de véritables expériences existentielles, autant pour l’interprète que pour le public, et il en est de même pour les enregistrements. Les œuvres que l’on croyait connaître sur le bout des oreilles apparaissent soudain dans une nouvelle lumière, y compris dans le cadre de ce nouvel enregistrement, et ce bien qu’il ait été réalisé en studio. L’approche de Tetzlaff consiste en un intrigant mélange de prise de risques, d’ouverture d’esprit, de technique brillante et d’une grande humilité devant les œuvres.
