Depuis 2004 et l'album One Day Remains, Alter Bridge distille un rock metal sans concession, s'imposant lentement dans les charts en qualité de second couteau, après avoir brillé aux meilleures places au temps de Creed.
Prenant de plus en plus d'assurance, le chanteur et auteur Myles Kennedy, compagnon de route de Slash, mène le jeu de sa voix lourde et puissante. Derrière, les musiciens assurent en soutenant la machine bien huilée. Le rythme cogne durement et les riffs juteux laissent des traces dans le hit single « Isolation » et autres titres phares de l'album (« Slip To The Void », « Ghost of Days Gone By »).
Avec ce troisième opus classé n°9 à sa sortie américaine, Alter Bridge compte bien entrer dans la catégorie supérieure du rock alternatif, et ce ne serait que mérité.
