Sirens And Sailors

Hailing from the proudly blue-collar town of Rochester, New York, metalcore outfit Sirens & Sailors have built their reputation the hard way, through relentless D.I.Y. touring and self-released and independent recordings that documented the precise but brutal impact of their music. Sirens & Sailors were formed in 2005 by vocalist Kyle Bihrle and guitarist Jimm Lindsay; they were initially accompanied by guitarist Kevin Mahle, bassist John Turner, and drummer Josh Deni. This first lineup of the band began playing regularly in the Rochester area, and made its recording debut with a self-titled and self-released EP, which was released in physical form in 2007 and reissued as a digital download in 2010. In 2008, Deni and Mahle both left the group; Doug Court became Sirens & Sailors' new drummer, while Todd Golder stepped in as guitarist. In 2010, Sirens & Sailors self-released their first full-length album, Still Breathing, and in support they began touring through the East Coast and Midwest, sharing bills with the likes of Though She Wrote, Affiance, Us from Outside, and Serianna. In 2011, John Turner left the group, and Nick Lord took over as bassist. In 2012 Sirens & Sailors struck a deal with the independent label Tragic Hero Records, which issued the band's next EP, Wasteland, and the single "You and Die." The next year was dominated by hard touring, headlining smaller dates and opening on larger stages for Belie My Burial, the World We Knew, the Air I Breathe, and Everyone Dies in Utah, among others. By the end of 2012, Nick Lord had left Sirens & Sailors, with Steve Goupil taking over on bass, and the band signed a new deal with Artery Recordings, distributed by the well-established indie label Razor & Tie. The second full-length Sirens & Sailors album, Skeletons, was recorded in 2013 and arrived in the fall of that year, after several rounds of touring and with plenty more scheduled for the future.
