A mishmash of assorted material taken from German uber-thrashers Kreator's middle period (some would say golden era), 1996's Scenarios of Violence makes for an entertaining, but historically confusing listening experience. Included here are regular album cuts ("Renewal," "Europe After the Rain"), brand-new cuts ("Suicide in Swamps," "Depressive Unrest"), remixed tracks ("Toxic Trace," "Terrible Certainty"), and live recordings of established classics ("Extreme Aggressions," "Tormentor"). All of which make for an interesting collection for longtime Kreator addicts, but a far-from-perfect introduction for brand-new fans. The latter are instead urged to seek out the also flawed, but much more cohesive Past Life Trauma (1985-1992) collection.

In your panoramas...
Queen: A Balanced Band

The film “Bohemian Rhapsody”, which was screening in cinemas in October 2018, is a reminder of what Freddie Mercury would always say: Queen isn’t just about him, it’s about a band of four exceptional individuals. This is exactly what Brian May and Roger Taylor (without John Deacon, who retired) have been trying to demonstrate since the death of their flamboyant singer on November 21, 1991.

The Beatles in 12 Albums

Barely seven years spent in the studio. An immeasurable heritage that still has a very strong influence today. The Beatles are a unique case in the history of popular music. The sixties music scene was an era of huge transition. With the Fab Four- helped by Bob Dylan on the other side of the Atlantic- rock music left its carefree adolescence and began adulthood. The four bubbly, naive boys from Liverpool would be transformed into independent artists, a life we follow through their discography.

And then Nirvana Killed Rock

In 1987, Nirvana was born: the most unexpected punk swerve of the end of the 20th century. A rocketing career, international hits, hordes of fans and a tragic epilogue for this worldwide phenomenon. And what if Kurt Cobain’s band was none other than the last band in the history of rock? The ultimate generational phenomenon of genre, if not its last myth.
