Blue Diamond is an excellent newgrass album that juxtaposes contemporary folk songs by Bob Dylan with standards by Carter Stanley, and country songs by Buck Owens. It proves that the Johnson Mountain Boys remain one of the best progressive bluegrass combos of the '70s and '80s.

Over the years, some of them have nevertheless managed to shift lines and attitudes, like these ten pioneers and revolutionaries who have put – even stamped – their boots on Nashville's table.

Guy Clark, poet and troubadour

He was worshipped by Johnny Cash and many others, but remained largely unknown until his death two years ago, in May 2016. Who was Guy Clark, the immense Texan songwriter, the unmatched narrator, the troubadour with the husky voice whose compositions were interpreted by all the big names of country and folk?
