There’s a certain class to Jimmie Vaughan that doesn’t seem to diminish. Worthy heir to the three Kings (Freddie, Albert and B.B.), Stevie Ray Vaughan’s older brother may have been playing in the same field for years, but you can't get enough of his inimitable Stratocaster-style sharpness and his haunting and rough voice. With Baby, Please Come Home, the Texan firework releases an impeccable celebration of blues in all its forms. “When I was young, I didn’t really pay much attention to categories of music. I just heard what I liked and decided to explore that. And that’s really what I’m still doing. ” This results in an eclectic vintage taste, for which he revisits the gems of Etta James, Fats Domino, Jimmy Reed, T-Bone Walker, Clarence ‘Gatemouth’ Brown, Lefty Frizzell, Richard Berry, Chuck Willis, Bill Doggett, Lloyd Price and Jimmy Donley.
