El cantautor Nick Drake fue uno de los artistas que más contribuyó al auge de la escena folk-rock británica de principios de los 70. La mayoría de sus canciones están impregnadas de una melancolía barroca que acabó siendo consagrada por el tiempo. Subestimado durante su vida pero reverenciado hoy, sus canciones rebosan de asombro y oscuridad, a la vez pastorales, románticas y misteriosas. Aunque la cálida voz de barítono de Nick Drake y su guitarra acústica pulsada con los dedos son ingredientes sencillos, sus canciones albergan una exuberante complejidad y una elegante magia cuyo encanto no ha hecho sino proyectar sobre él una sombra más grande y atormentada desde su prematuro fallecimiento cimentando su estatus de icono.
