Whee In

Having found global success as a member of K-pop girl group Mamamoo, South Korean vocalist Whee In built a strong solo career in the 2020s, delivering melodic anthems across mini-albums like Redd (2020) and WHEE (2021). Born in Jeollabuk Province in South Korea, Jung Whee-in would find her calling as part of Mamamoo, a K-pop four-piece formed by RBW in 2014. A gifted and wide-ranging vocalist, Whee In proved an invaluable part of the group's success throughout the 2010s: debuting on their first mini-album, Hello, she helped Mamamoo secure multiple number one-charting mini-albums (Yellow Flower, White Wind), alongside number two and number one chart positions for the group's full-length Korean LPs Melting and Reality in Black. Their retro-influenced sound proved a major success internationally, spawning three full studio albums, 11 mini-albums (and two Japanese variants), and a relentless string of Top Ten-charting singles. While recording under Mamamoo, Whee In began testing the waters for a solo career. Increasing levels of success came with her solo debut "Easy" (2018) and the number three-charting "Good Bye" (2019), before the vocalist issued her debut single album, Soar, to a number four position on the Gaon charts. Pulling together a mix of funk-laced anthems, melodic singer/songwriter cuts, and melodic trap-pop fusions, Whee In issued her first mini-album, the number seven-charting Redd, in 2021. Shortly after the project's release, she announced her intentions to stop promoting with Mamamoo after 2023, subsequently signing with Ravi's The L1ve label. In January 2022, she made her The L1ve debut with second mini-album WHEE.
