Pete Muller

Born and raised in Wayne, New Jersey, by his immigrant parents, Pete Muller became a successful hedge fund manager before launching a similarly successful career as a smooth-voiced adult contemporary musician. After graduating from Princeton University, he joined the staff of Morgan Stanley in 1992 and formed his own hedge fund company, PDT Partners, one year later. Serving as the company's CEO, Muller became a very successful businessman while still in his 20s. Looking to indulge his passions as a singer, songwriter, and pianist, he made his musical debut with Just One Lifetime, an adult contemporary album that appeared in 2002. More Than This followed in 2004, with Two Truths and a Lie appearing more than a decade later in 2015. However, it was 2019's Dissolve that found Muller occupying the Billboard charts for the first time, thanks to a run of successful singles. "San Diego (When You Coming Home)" hit Number 27 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart, with "God and Democracy" climbing to Number 28. Four additional hits — "For What It's Worth," "The Way," "Lonely People," and "Don't Worry Be Happy" — cracked the Top 30 in 2021, and Bremnes maintained his successful with 2022's "Tin Palace," which rose to Number 27.
