Lars Vaular

Lars Vaular is a Norwegian rapper based in Bergen, Norway. He began rapping in 2003 in the duo 'Tier'n & Lars' with Fernando Manuel. In 2004 they released two mixtapes in collaboration with the Norwegian rap group Freakshow: 'We Are the Champions' and 'Frykt Og Avsky I Bergen'. The following year the duo released the mixtape 'Tilbake Til Stripa: Forberdelsen' followed by the album 'Kulturclash' in 2006. In 2007, Lars Vaular released his debut solo album 'La Hat - Et Nytt Dagslys' followed by his second album 'D'e Glede' in 2009. His breakthrough album 'Helt Om Natten, Helt Om Dagen' followed later that year reaching number three in the Norwegian Albums Chart. The album contained the controversial track 'Kem Killed Siv Jensen' that presents a fictional account of the shooting of the right-wing politician Siv Jensen. In 2011, he released his fourth album 'Du Betyr Meg' reaching number five in the charts.

His fifth album '1001 Hjem' arrived in 2013 containing the single 'Gary Speed'. A fan of Leeds United FC, the track was named after the former player and manager who died in 2011. Following its release, Vaular was invited to perform at a pre-match performance at the Elland Road Stadium, but this was cancelled when Vaular refused to change lyrics that referred to the troubled history of the club. In 2015 he released a trilogy of mini-albums: '666 ALT', '666 GIR' and '666 MENING'. In 2017, he released the mini-albums 'Loading' and 'Loading 2' as well as the single 'Boys' featuring vocals from Astrid S. In 2019 he returned with the single 'Kroppsspråk', reaching number 21 on the Norwegian Singles Chart.
