Johannes Wallmann

Johannes Wallmann, born in Germany in 1974 and raised on Canada's Vancouver Island, is a distinguished pianist, composer, and the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His education at Berklee College of Music and New York University laid the foundation for a career that spans continents and genres, earning him national awards and grants. Johannes Wallmann's notable recordings, including nine critically acclaimed CDs such as The Town Musicians (2015) and Love Wins (2018), highlight his prowess in blending jazz with elements of social justice, earning accolades from major publications. Before his tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Johannes Wallmann contributed to the jazz programs at New York University and California State University East Bay, demonstrating his commitment to education.
