Eli Brown

British DJ and producer Eli Brown makes raucous, pumping tech-house and peak-time techno. First known as a drum'n'bass artist, he launched his house moniker in 2016, and began releasing rave-friendly tracks at a rapid pace. He scored a massive club hit with the 2019 Solardo collaboration "XTC," and additionally worked with Calvin Harris, Green Velvet, Oliver Heldens, and others. He's maintained his success with tracks like 2022's "Believe" and 2023's "Diamonds on My Mind." Bristol's Gavin Harris came up as part of the drum'n'bass scene, releasing music as Xample throughout the 2000s. He signed to Andy C's RAM Records in 2007, and teamed up with frequent collaborator Lomax as the duo Loadstar, releasing two albums on the label during the 2010s. Additionally, he recorded electro-house tracks with Delta Heavy's Si James as the duo Paper Planes, issuing a two-song single on OWSLA imprint Nest in 2016. Concentrating on house, he anonymously sent a track to frequent tourmate Skream, who was impressed and released three of the earliest Eli Brown EPs on his Of Unsound Mind label. Additional EPs and singles arrived on Lee Foss' Repopulate Mars, Mark Knight's Toolroom Records, Green Velvet's Relief Records, and other significant club labels. Brown toured the world and made his debut appearances at Miami Music Week and London's Fabric club. "XTC," a 2019 single with Solardo, was championed by BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, and named the year's best track by DJ Mag. The duo followed its success with 2020's "My Life," and Brown released "Moving" with Calvin Harris' acid house-inspired Love Regenerator alias. Several other releases, including the Green Velvet collaboration "Unapologetic Raver" and the EP Fading to Black, rounded out the largely clubless year. Brown collaborated with London post-punk quartet Talk Show for "Trouble," his first release of 2021. This was followed by the Escape EP, second Love Regenerator collab "We Can Come Together," "Send Help," and other releases. In 2022, he delivered the EPs Believe, Rudeboi, and Deep Down, as well as "Industria" with HI-LO (aka Oliver Heldens) and a remix of Orbital's classic "Chime." 2023 tracks "Be the One" and "Diamonds on My Mind" received heavy club play, and the producer released a second song with HI-LO, "Ride or Die."
