Delphine Constantin-Reznik

Trained in the classic French harp tradition, Delphine Constantin-Reznik is committed not only to standard harp repertory but to music she has rediscovered and to contemporary works. Principal harpist of the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, she has also performed as a guest with many other northern European ensembles. Constantin-Reznik was born in Paris in 1983. She attended the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatory in the Paris suburbs and then went on to the Zurich Academy of the Arts in Switzerland, earning distinctions from both schools when she graduated. She studied with Catherine Michel and Annie Fontaine and also was "tremendously inspired" by master classes with Xavier de Maistre and Isabelle Perrin. She won prizes at international competitions in France, Germany, and Switzerland during her student years and performed with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. She performed with the Netherlands Philharmonic, Basel Symphony, and Zurich Opera Orchestra, and she held engagements as guest principal harpist with major Scandinavian ensembles, including the Danish Radio Symphony, the Oslo Philharmonic, and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic. In 2008, she became principal harpist of the Norrköping Symphony. Constantin-Reznik has appeared as a concerto soloist with such groups as the Nordic Chamber Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, and the Pori Sinfonietta of Finland. She is an enthusiastic chamber music player, collaborating with pianist Roland Pöntinen, violinist Johan Dalene, and flutist Laura Michelin, among others. She has appeared at the Båstad Chamber Music Festival and Old Ox Music Festival in Sweden, the Palanga Music Festival in Lithuania, and the Asker Kammermusikk Festival in Norway. She often performs for the Swedish royal family. Her concerts regularly include contemporary works, some of them written for her by such composers as Andrea Tarrodi, Peter Nordahl, and Naji Hakim. Constantin-Reznik has also been active in unearthing neglected repertory for the harp, most prominently that of composer Anton Edvard Pratté (1796-1875), who lived in Norrköping, and in 2019, she founded the International Pratté Harp Festival and Competition there. She serves as its artistic director, and a second festival was scheduled for 2022. Constantin-Reznik released an album of Pratté's works on the BIS label in 2021. She is also a harp teacher who lists French, English, German, and Swedish as teaching languages, as well as a good comprehension of several others.
