Cyhra
CyHra is a Swedish melodic metal supergroup with ties to In Flames, Amaranthe, the Crown, Shining, and Kamelot. Emerging in 2017 with Letters to Myself, the band's hard-driving sound, which pairs the complexity of progressive metal and the aggression of metalcore with the majesty of melodic hard rock, grew even more robust on subsequent efforts, No Halos in Hell (2019) and The Vertigo Trigger (2023).
Founded by vocalist Jake E (ex-Amaranthe) and guitarist Jesper Strömblad (ex-In Flames), CyHra solidified into a domineering four-piece with the additions of lead guitarist Euge Valovirta (ex-Shining) and drummer Alex Landenburg (Kamelot). The band issued the single "Karma" in September 2017, ahead of the arrival of their debut full-length, Letters to Myself, which was released later that October by Spinefarm Records. Heavy, dynamic, and melody-driven, No Halos in Hell, the group's sophomore set, arrived in 2019, this time on Nuclear Blast. They added guitarist Marcus Sunesson (ex-the Crown) to the roster ahead of album number three. Released in 2023, The Vertigo Trigger saw CyHra deliver their boldest and darkest effort to date, pairing edgy riffs and pummeling grooves with potent melodies and anthemic choruses.
