Publicado a mediados del verano de 2014, World Peace Is None Of Your Business nos tranquilizaba en cuanto a la inspiración de un Morrissey en mejor forma que nunca. Tres años después, con Low In High School, el antiguo vocalista de los Smiths cambia de registro con un undécimo álbum en solitario algo desconcertante. Desconcertante en lo referente, sobre todo, a sonido. Pero el eclecticismo de la propuesta, que pasa del estruendo total a la cantinela casi acústica, no debe ocultar la potencia de varios temas. Como de costumbre, Moz interpreta impecablemente su papel de misántropo panfletario, y ya desde la misma portada comprendemos que el dandi británico no va a contener su enfado. Enfado que gusta de combinar con buenas dosis de ambigüedad política, arte en que se ha demostrado siempre un verdadero maestro. Claro que cuando se limita a hacer de Morrissey, como en Home Is a Question Mark o I Bury The Living, cuando se dedica simplemente a cultivar su pose de crooner algo desfasado, poseedor de la más afilada prosodia, resulta insuperable… Disco a disco, Morrissey nos recuerda cada vez que los Smiths están muertos y enterrados, y que él disfruta bailando sobre su tumba. © MD/Qobuz
