Anne-Sophie Mutter: Qobuz Video Interview

By Alexandra Grillmeier |

We met Anne-Sophie Mutter for an exclusive interview in Paris. The famous German violinist talks about the recording for her Dvořák album with the Berliner Philharmoniker and provides an insight into her latest project: The Silver Album.

The last time Anne-Sophie Mutter recorded in studio with the Berliner Philharmoniker was 30 years ago to the day, then under the direction of Herbert von Karajan. Dvořák’s Violin Concerto in A minor was the perfect opportunity for a new collaboration, this time with conductor Manfred Honeck.

With The Silver Album, Anne-Sophie Mutter celebrates the 25th anniversary of her collaboration with pianist Lambert Orkis, which began on stage at the Carnegie Hall back in 1988. An impressive series of concerts and recordings followed this to cement a truly powerful partnership.

In The Silver Album, the duo brings together the finest moments of an exceptional collaboration. Besides works by Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms the album contains unreleased tracks by Penderecki and Previn. A wonderful evening recital with lots of encores!
