Tom Gregory

Tom Gregory has a deft touch for melody, a gift he tempers with a keen sincerity. This combination positions him as an heir to Ed Sheeran, yet Gregory distinguishes himself by emphasizing cinematic arena rock and adding a hint of stylish electronic flair. The former was evident on "Fingertips" and the latter on "Never Let Me Down," a pair of 2020 singles that gave him hits in continental Europe, helping to form the backbone of his full-length debut, Heaven in a World So Cold. Hailing from the coastal city of Fleetwood, Blackpool, England, Gregory first fell in love with music as a child. When he was 16 in 2012, he appeared on the first season of The Voice UK but he didn't make it past the first round. Shortly afterward, he formed a band called Kiings, who recorded an EP that received some airplay on Radio 1. Kiings didn't last long, so Gregory headed to university at Preston's UCLan, a venture that also was short-lived. His next break arrived in 2015, when he landed a role on the BBC drama The A Word, his acting helping fund his continued musical activity. In 2017, he released the single "Run to You" on the Hamburg-based label Kontor Records. "Run to You" earned an online audience and a following in Germany, where he toured twice. He built his European fan base in 2018 and 2019 with the singles "Losing Sleep," "Honest," and "Small Steps," but it was 2020's "Fingertips" that gave him his first charting hit in Germany and Austria. Its sequel, "Never Let Me Down," a collaboration with Vize, did even better, reaching the Top Ten in Austria, Germany, and Poland. All of these singles were featured on Heaven in a World So Cold, his 2020 debut album.
