Seeker Lover Keeper

Respected Australian singer/songwriters Sally Seltmann, Sarah Blasko, and Holly Throsby came together in 2011 as the supergroup Seeker Lover Keeper. A literate melding of melodic indie pop and folk, the trio's eponymous debut was a critical and commercial success. After resuming their respective solo careers, the three friends revived the band in 2019, releasing their follow-up album, Wild Seeds. Already admirers of each other's work, the idea to collaborate grew out of a conversation in a pub after Blasko and Throsby went to hear Seltmann play a show in Sydney. The initial concept was to do a joint tour together, but as time went on, they landed on the idea of forming a band, with Seltmann suggesting the name Seeker Lover Keeper. With each artist bringing four songs to the table, they convened in New York and recorded their debut with fellow Australians Jim White (Dirty Three, Nina Nastasia) on drums and engineer Victor Van Vugt (PJ Harvey, Nick Cave). Released in June 2011, the trio's self-titled full-length was a success, debuting at number three on the ARIA Album chart and eventually going platinum. After a series of tours in support of the album, Seltmann, Blasko, and Throsby all returned to their own solo work. While Blasko was doing a 2016 residency on Double J digital radio, both Seltmann and Throsby joined her for a session, and their interest in doing a second Seeker Lover Keeper album was rekindled. They made their first appearance on-stage together in seven years on October 2018 and entered the studio soon afterward. In August of the following year, the band released their second album, Wild Seeds.
