Noctem
A Spanish extreme metal group focused on occult-heavy, myth-building black metal, Noctem emerged in 2001 from the port city of Valencia. One of the region's most vital metal acts, the band has been operational for over two decades and has toured throughout Europe, Asia, Russia, and North America. Noctem issued a pair of demos (2002's Unholy Blood and 2007's God Among the Slaves) and a concert album (Live 2004) before releasing its debut long-player, Divinity, in 2009. The punishing Oblivion arrived in 2011, followed by the like-minded Exilium in 2014 and Haeresis in 2016. During this period, the band expanded its audience with high-profile shows alongside extreme metal contemporaries like Marduk, Batushka, Napalm Death, and Immolation. 2019's Black Consecration saw them deliver their most resonant set of blackened death metal yet, a style the group refined even further on 2022's deep and unrelenting Credo Certe NE Cras.
