Amanda Holden
Primarily known for her roles on British television, both as an actor and as a judge on Britain's Got Talent, Amanda Holden also carved out a career in music, releasing her debut album, Songs from My Heart, in 2020.
Born in Portsmouth but raised in the Hampshire town of Bishop's Waltham, Holden had a talent for acting, joining a local theater group before going on to study at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Bournemouth. Throughout the '90s, Holden appeared in numerous TV shows, most notably the BBC sitcom Kiss Me Kate, alongside parts in The Bill, Eastenders, and Jonathan Creek. A move into presenting followed in the 2000s, with Holden also appearing on-stage in various musicals, including being nominated for Best Actress in a Musical at the Laurence Oliver Theatre Awards for her performance in 2004's Thoroughly Modern Millie. With her background in the arts and with Holden a household name in the U.K., she appeared as a judge on Simon Cowell's 2007 show Britain's Got Talent. Over the next few years, along with her stint as judge, she focused primarily on television presenting, producing documentaries, and guest appearances before moving into the music industry. In October 2020, she delivered her debut album, Songs from My Heart, which saw her taking on several of her favorite show tunes along with a handful of covers.
